SUMMARY:Kossuth Area Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:The Kossuth Area Garden Club will be conducting its annual plant sale on Saturday morning May 11 in the commercial building at the Kossuth County Fairgrounds. Hours of the sale will be 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon. Club members will be offering a large variety of perennials and other garden plants taken from their gardens. “Come early for the best selection\,” said Walt Reemtsma\, president of the club. \nProceeds from the sale will be used to support community beautification projects.

DESCRIPTION: Kossuth Area Garden Club is inviting area gardeners and interested residents to participate in its Spring Gardeners Workshop on Tuesday\, April 9 at the Water’s edge Nature Center beginning at 7:00 p.m. \nTwo informative presentations will be shared during the workshop. The first “Growing and Using Herbs from Your Garden” will given by garden club member Karen Pastori. Her presentation will focus on growing\, processing\, and using herbs that can be grown in your garden with then information shared drawn from her many years of personal experience.  The second presentation is entitled “Attracting Birds to Your Garden” and will be given by Naturalist Julie Fafcado.

DESCRIPTION:Kossuth Area Garden Club will be Hosting a Community Gardening Workshop on Tuesday\, April 11th at 6:30PM at the Water’s Edge Nature Center. During the meeting several gardening topics will be discussed. Duren Watts\, an employee of Grass Masters\, Algona\, will be sharing the latest information regarding the Emerald Ash Boer which has made its presence known in this area. Glenn Simonson\, Glenn’s Green Thumb\, Algona\, will be offering tips on weed control and what options are available for those who have lost Ash Trees. In addition he will be telling about the newest varieties of garden plants and flowers that will be available for spring planting.
