–A Kossuth County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call Sunday near Fenton, that was not your typical request for service. Deputy Brian Runneberg tells KLGA News he had to double-check to make sure he heard the call of an injured eagle correctly.

Runneberg says the eagle went down along 30th Avenue, just north of 290th Steet, about 3 miles SE of Fenton. The eagle was in some thick grass when they Deputy arrived.

Runneberg says he did what he could to avoid the eagles sharp talons while also trying to calm and protect the bird.

The Eagle was taken to Holmes Animal Clinic, where officials say it suffered a severe wing fracture. They suspect the bird was hit by a car.
