Algona Man Arrested After High Speed Chase in NW Iowa

–An Algona man is in custody in Dickinson County after allegedly leading law enforcement on a high speed chase through NW Iowa that ended in Minnesota early Thursday morning.

According to the Spirit Lake Police Department, Officers reported a red Chevy Impala westbound on HWY 9/71 traveling at a high rate of speed shortly after 3 AM Thursday. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, which was reportedly traveling over 70 MPH in a 25 MPH zone, the driver fled and a chase ensued.

Law Enforcement reports the Impala reached speeds over 115 MPH and led officers through multiple counties, before stopping in Jackson County, Minnesota.

The driver was identified as 28-year-old Klint Wyatt King of Algona, who was booked into the Dickinson County Jail on charges of OWI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, along with several charges related to the chase.
