Bears in the Lead After Day 1 at State

–The Bishop Garrigan Girls Golf team leads the Class 1A State Golf Tournament after Day 1 in Marshalltown. The Golden Bears carded a team score of 361, to take a six-shot lead over 2nd place Grundy Center heading into Day 2 at the American Legion Golf Course. 

Annie Burns lead the way with a round of 82, which puts her 3rd in the individual competition. Ava Eisenbarth shot a round of 87, while Riley Rosenmeyer added a 94 and Avery Lichter shot a 98 to round out the Bears team score. Garrigan also received a round of 100 from Meredith Illg and a 102 from Olivia Arndorfer. 

The Bears will tee off Friday morning in search of another state title.
