–Kossuth Regional Health Center is being honored with a Women’s Choice Award. KRHC CEO Dar Elbert tells KLGA News that they earned recognition in for the service they provide in two different areas.
Elbert says the Women’s Choice Award is not something that they can apply for, it is something that is driven by patient experiences.
Elbert says providing outstanding obstetrics care is even more important in rural Iowa, where many facilities are eliminating the service.
Elbert says the obstetric care provided by KRHC starts well before and continues well after a child is born.
The Women’s Choice Award is only given to the top 10% of hospitals in the nation. Kossuth Regional Health Center was ranked in the top 1% for Obstetrics Care and the top 7% for Emergency Care.
