Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

–A traffic stop early Saturday morning resulted in multiple drug-related charges against an Algona man. 

According to the Algona Police Department, Officers conducted a traffic stop just after midnight on Saturday, February 25th. After conducting a brief investigation, Officers arrested the driver, identified as 29-year-old Andrew David Miller.  

Miller is facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) 1st Offense, a serious misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Miller was also cited for driving with a suspended license. 

Miller was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online court records show he is due back in Kossuth County District Court on Friday, March 17th for a preliminary hearing.
