Leadership Class to Host Comedy Night

–The Algona Leadership Class is sponsoring a comedy show next weekend as a fundraiser for their class project. Comedian Jeremy Nunes will be performing at the Algona VFW on Saturday, April 1st. KLGA News spoke with Nunes, who grew up in a small town himself before getting into comedy.

Nunes, who grew up in a rural Illinois town with a population around 500, describes his act as Front Porch Comedy.

Nunes travels all across the country, spending over 100 nights a year on the road.

Nunes is also an author, having penned the book “You Can’t Write City Hall”, detailing his time as Mayor of his hometown. The show is scheduled for 7:30 PM on Saturday, April 1st at the Algona VFW Hall, with doors to open at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $15, and you must be 21 or older to attend. You can purchase tickets at the Algona Chamber of Commerce office or from any Leadership Class member. Tickets will also be available at the door if the event is not sold out.
