Drug Charges Filed Following Search Warrant at Algona Home

–An Algona man was taken into custody and arrest warrants have been issued for another after a search warrant was executed at a Jones Street residence.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies served the warrant at 523 S. Jones Street, along with officers from the Algona Police Department and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday. While conducting the search, Law Enforcement seized numerous items associated with illegal drug use, including cash, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

As a result of the search, officers arrested 33-year-old Richard Eugene Folkerts of Algona on charges of:

*Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver (Class B Felony)

*Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp (Class D Felony)

*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)

Arrest warrants have also been issued for 43-year-old Justin Thomas Terwilliger of Algona, charging him with:

*Gathering where drugs (Methamphetamine) are used (Class D Felony)

*Conspiracy to Deliver Methamphetamine (Class B Felony)

Folkerts was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online court records show he is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on Friday, April 21st.
