–Kossuth Regional Health Center has added a new member to their Behavioral Health Team this month. Peter Jorgenson is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and he began providing services to patients at the Algona Clinic earlier this month.

Jorgenson, who is an Algona native, received his bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Maryville University. He has worked in inpatient behavioral health and home care behavioral health settings.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Jorgenson provides assessment and diagnosis of mental health issues, medication management, as well as psychoeducation regarding healthy lifestyles and relapse prevention.

Appointments can only be made with referral from a healthcare provider, while transfer of care may also be an option for patients wishing to be seen closer to home.

Jorgenson joins Clinical Psychologist Dr. Mia Hegarty Roach on the Behavioral Health team at KRHC. For more information about their services, you can find out more online at www.krhc.com or by calling 515-295-2451.
