–The Iowa Board of Nursing has indefinitely suspended the license of a Whittemore woman who was arrested last year and charged with stealing pain medication from a patient.

At their meeting this month, the Board of Nursing suspended the license of 47-year-old Tammie Illg pending receipt of a chemical dependency evaluation from a board-approved evaluator.

Illg was arrested in December of 2022 by law enforcement officials in Palo Alto County, and charged with Dependent Adult Abuse, a serious misdemeanor and Drug Diversion, a Class C Felony.

Court documents alleged that in October of 2022, Illg gave a patient at a long-term care facility in West Bend Tylenol instead of their prescribed Oxycodone, and then kept the prescription drug for herself.

Online court records show Illg has pleaded guilty to the drug charge and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

The Iowa Board of Nursing had previously suspended Illg’s license back in 2014, after she was charged with trespassing and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.
