–The City of Algona hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning to kick off the 2nd phase of the Central Park Renovation Project. City Administrator Jacob Tjaden addressed those in attendance, and he says city staff began looking at how they could make some improvements to the park back in 2020.

Tjaden says they sought community input on what people would like to see in the park.

City Communications Director Joanne Roepke Bode says the community stepped up in a big way to help move this project along.

The preliminary work on the splashpad will get underway in the next few weeks, with everything scheduled to be completed by summer of 2024.
