–An Algona woman has been selected as the “1440 Citizen of the Month” award winner from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Roger Fisher announced this week that Gina Geving is a high-energy, self-motivated person that is known to step up and volunteer all over the area. Geving serves as the Director for the All Call Theater Company, and has been instrumental in bringing children’s community theater back to the area. She served as the director for Bishop Garrigan’s recent production of the Wizard of Oz when the school needed some help with the performance.

Geving had an on-screen role in the film “Silent Night in Algona”, which was filmed in and around Kossuth County. Her nomination form states that her love and enthusiasm for the arts is evident in her positive attitude and willingness to help children experience the theatre.

If you know someone who lives or works in Kossuth County that demonstrates positive character traits in helping others, you can nominate them for the “1440” award by emailing Sheriff Roger Fisher at [email protected] or by filling out the nomination form available on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
