Traffic Stop Brings Charges Against Eastern Iowa Woman

–An Eastern Iowa woman is facing multiple felony charges following a traffic stop in rural Palo Alto County Saturday.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Department, Deputies conducted a traffic stop 2-miles east of Ruthven along US Highway 18, around 9:40 PM on Saturday. After conducting a brief investigation, Deputies arrested the driver, identified as 54-year-old Tina Lee Sprague of Waterloo.

Sprague is facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)-3rd or Subsequent offense, a Class D Felony, and OWI 2nd Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and a handful of traffic violations.

Sprague is also facing a charge of Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Facility, a Class D felony, following a search when she was being booked into the Palo Alto County Jail.

Sprague is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Palo Alto County District Court on June 14th.
