–Area Cornhole enthusiasts can take part in a tournament Sunday in Algona that is being used as a fundraiser for the new grandstands at the Kossuth County Fairgrounds. Stephanie Metz is helping to organize the event, and she tells KLGA News they will get going bright and early Sunday morning.
Metz says the tournament will be held at the fairgrounds.
Metz says they already have a handful of teams signed up, as registration can be taken prior to Sunday.
Cash prizes will be handed out to the top 5 teams, and raffle drawing will be held throughout the tournament for prizes that have been donated by local businesses and sponsors. All proceeds will be given to the Grandstand renovation fund, as the Kossuth County Fair Board is looking to raise over a million dollars to cover the costs of replacing the grandstands, which are over a century old. If you have questions or would like to register, you can contact Metz by calling 701-490-2416.
