–The annual Algona Founder’s Day festival gets underway Thursday, with the presentation of the Heritage Award followed by the Voices from the Past performance. Organizer and performer Jane Nettleton tells KLGA News about the voices that will be speaking from beyond the grave.

Nettleton says they have a couple more voices that you can hear fromf during the tour at Riverview Cemetery.

Nettleton says finding new people to focus on each year takes a lot of time and effort.

The Heritage Award will be presented at 6PM Thursday at the Riverview Cemetery, with Voices from the Past set to take place immediately afterwards. If you can’t make it to the cemetery Thursday, there will be a second performance Sunday at 2PM, inside Meeting Room A at the Algona Public Library.
