–A Palo Alto County man is being charged with fleeing law enforcement officials following a short chase near Graettinger late last week.
According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 4200 Block of 280th Street just after 9PM on Thursday, June 6th. The suspect vehicle did not pull over and continued driving until pulling into a residence in the 200 Block of North Cameron Avenue in Graettinger.
After conducting a brief investigation, Deputies arrested 38-year-old John Wesley Marcum Jr. of Graettinger on charges of OWI 2nd Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, Eluding, a Serious Misdemeanor, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign, Failure to Display Registration Plate, and Open Container of Alcohol in the vehicle, all Simple Misdemeanors.
Following the arrest, Marcum was booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
