–An Algona man is facing a felony charge after being taken into custody over the weekend in the St. Benedict area.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies assisted the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office with a call in the St. Benedict area just before 11PM on Saturday, July 22nd. Upon arrival, Deputies conducted a brief investigation and arrested 55-year-old Juan Robles Santiago on multiple outstanding warrants for violating a no contact order.

Back on April 5th, Santiago was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury or Mental Illness-1st offense. At that time, a No Contact Order was issued to prevent Santiago from having any contact with the alleged victim in the case.

Since that time, Santiago has allegedly violated the no contact order 15 times, including one instance that includes a charge of Stalking, a Class D Felony.

Santiago was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online court records show he is due back in Kossuth County District Court on July 31st for a preliminary hearing.
