–The Hunting with Heroes organization is hosting their annual Salute to Veterans races in Algona, Spencer, and Boone this week, to honor those who have served our country. Hunting with Heroes Co-Founder Bernie Becker tells KLGA News there will be special entertainment at each race track this week.
Becker says they also have a special wrap this year to recognize area veterans.
Becker says the chance to honor our veterans and win some big purses will bring in drivers from all over the area.
Each of the wrapped cars will be on display prior to the races at each track and can be seen online as well.
Becker says they have great prizes to hand out and some special items for any veteran or widow of a veteran.
The races are scheduled for Wednesday (7/26) in Spencer, Thursday (7/27) in Algona and Saturday (7/29) in Boone. All Veterans, whether they be Active Duty or Retired, along with any widow of a veteran receive free admission, a free meal, free drinks and a goodie bag at each racetrack. The fan zone at each track will open at 3:45 PM. Hot Laps in Spencer and Algona begin at 6:30 PM, with Boone starting at 5:30 PM.
