–A recent economic impact study revealed that Kossuth Regional Health Center provided more than 1.1 million dollars in total community benefits in 2022 while maintaining its presence as one of the area’s largest employers.

The study by the Iowa Hospital Association shows that KRHC generated 476 jobs last year, paying out over 30.3 million dollars in total wages. That figure is nearly 10% of all wages paid in Kossuth County and over 7% of all jobs.

Over the course of the year, the study shows that KRHC aided over 43,000 people through their community service programs.

The study was compiled by looking at hospital-submitted data to the American Hospital Association’s annual survey of hospitals. Data revealed that Iowa hospitals employ over 145,000 people statewide and provide over 9-billion dollars in wages. Hospital expenses accounted for over 21.5 billion dollars of the state’s gross domestic product.

The Iowa Hospital Association is a voluntary membership organization representing hospital and health system interests to business, government, and consumer audiences. For more information, you can check them out online at www.ihaonline.org.
