–The 75th annual Algona Band Day Festival will feature a float filled with former participants from years past. Bernie Merrill has served as an organizer for the Alumni Band, and she tells KLGA News that they are not asking former band members to come out of retirement and perform.
Merrill says they’ve gotten a great response and will have a person who took part in the very first Band Day parade back in 1948.
Merrill says they will take as many former participants as they can get.
Merrill says any former Algona or Bishop Garrigan High School marching band members are welcome to join them for the parade on Saturday, which begins at 1PM.
