–No injuries were reported following a 2-vehicle collision north of Titonka Monday morning.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Eva Tjarks of Wesley was traveling northbound on County Road R14 in a 2012 Chevy Cruze just after 8AM Monday. The accident report states that Tjarks stopped at the intersection with County Road A42, and then pulled out in front of a eastbound 2001 Chevy Silverado, driven by 50-year-old Jeremy Thompson of Ledyard.
Tjarks told Deputies that she thought she was at a different intersection and that the approaching vehicle had a stop sign. She was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
Buffalo Center and Forest City EMS aided law enforcement, but no injuries were reported.
Damage to Tjarks’ vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while damage to Thompson’s truck was estimated at $1,500.
