–The Algona Community School District has seen a small drop in overall enrollment this year, but the certified enrollment figure that controls the amount of state money the district receives is up from a year ago. Superintendent Joe Carter outlined the numbers for the Algona School Board during their meeting Monday evening.
Carter explained how the certified enrollment can be up while overall enrollment is slightly down.
Carter says the district’s open enrollment numbers look similar to last year when you take out the students from LuVerne.
The district will finalize their enrollment figures by the end of the week so they can be officially certified.
