Minor Injuries Reported Following 2-Vehicle Crash on HWY 18

–Minor injuries were reported following a 2-vehicle collision along US Highway 18 Friday morning.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Megan Miller was traveling eastbound on Highway 18 in a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, just after 8AM Friday. At the same time, 83-year-old Kathryn Lucas of Algona was westbound on Highway 18 in a 2013 Ford Fiesta, when the two vehicles collided.

The accident report states that Deputies were unable to determine which vehicle crossed the centerline and caused the collision. Miller’s vehicle ended up in the westbound ditch, while Lucas’ vehicle ended up in the eastbound ditch. Lucas was taken to Kossuth Regional Health Center by Algona EMS with what were described as minor injuries.

Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $5,000.
