–The Kossuth County Genealogical Society will host a special presentation Thursday evening, focusing on how you can use DNA results to map out your family tree. Guest speaker Angelina McGahuey will lead the discussion, and she tells KLGA News she began researching her family tree back in 2016.
There are multiple online platforms you can use to process DNA results.
The website she refers to is www.gedmatch.com, which is a online service that compares DNA data files from different testing companies. McGahuey says the presentation will try and point people in the right direction if they want to begin looking into their family history.
The presentation will begin at 6 PM Thursday in the meeting room at the Algona Public Library. The event is open to the public and will replace the October roundtable discussion group that had been scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
