–Iowa Lakes Community College will be making upgrades to their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program after receiving a grant from the state. The governor’s office recently announced that 10 programs across the state will be receiving close to 5-million dollars in funding to help more drivers obtain the necessary training for their CDL. Jeff Soole serves as the Dean of Career and Technical Education for Iowa Lakes, and he tells KLGA News they know how badly CDL drivers are needed across the area.

Soole says they will be using their $240,000 grant to purchase new equipment.

The state funding comes from the Future Ready Iowa program, which is aimed at helping get more people into high demand careers across the state. To learn more about the CDL program at Iowa Lakes, you can contact Jeff Soole by calling 712-580-8628 or email [email protected].
