Northwest Iowa Man Facing Additional Charge After Being Taken in Custody Wednesday

–A Northwest Iowa man is facing additional charges after being taking into custody earlier this week.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 26-year-old Dalton Scott Burdorf of Lake Park Wednesday morning just after 11:30 AM. Online court records show Burdorf was arrested on January 4^th of 2023 on charges or Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Blood/Air Flow and Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury.

As a part of those court proceedings, Burdorf did not appear at a pretrial conference on December 12^th, and a bench warrant was issued at that time for his arrest. He is now scheduled to appear for a pretrial conference on January 3^rd.

While he was being arrested, Burdorf was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, so an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1^st offense was also added. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on the drug charge January 5^th.
