–A West Bend teen suffered only minor injuries in a one vehicle accident Saturday night near Whittemore.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 15-year-old Ian Thomas Roethler was traveling westbound in a 2011 Dodge Ram on County Road B40 just before 11 PM Saturday. When Roethler was about 2 miles east of Whittemore, he hit a patch of black ice and lost control of the truck, crossed the centerline and entered the south ditch, where the vehicle rolled multiple times.
Roethler reported minor injuries and was taken by a parent to Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. The accident report states that he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Damage to the truck was estimated at $5,000.
