–A Minnesota man was cited following a one-vehicle accident earlier this week in northern Kossuth County near the Iowa/Minnesota border.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 55-year-old Robert Raphael Schultz of Wells, Minnesota was traveling northbound on 40th Avenue in a 2005 Chevy mini-van around 10:45 PM Tuesday. The accident report states that Schultz lost control while going around a curve just south of the Burt Lake Campground area, causing the vehicle to roll, and ending up in the east ditch.

Schultz was taken by Swea City Ambulance to the Fairmont Medical Center with what were described as serious injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 42-year-old Nathan Howard Moore of Welcome, Minnesota reported minor injuries, and was not transported from the scene.

Schultz was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license, failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
