Forest City Man Charged with Attempted Murder

–A Forest City man is facing a charge of Attempted Murder following an investigation into a shooting incident earlier this month.

According to the Forest City Police Department, Officers received a report on February 12th of a shooting incident that had allegedly occurred in the 100 block of North 4th Street on February 10th. Forest City Police requested assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and were able to arrest 30-year-old Jose Alberto Carrera Patino in the early morning hours of February 13th.

Carrera Patino is facing charges of Attempted Murder, a Class B Felony and Going Armed with Intent, a Class D Felony. He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Friday in Winnebago County District Court.

Along with the DCI, Forest City Police were assisted by the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force Special Operations Group and the Forest City Ambulance Service.
