Minor Injuries Reported Following 2 Vehicle Crash Near Titonka

–Both drivers suffered minor injuries following a 2-vehicle collision near Titonka late last week.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 85-year-old Harlan Carl Harms of Titonka was southbound on County Road P66 in a 2011 Ford F150 truck around 4:30 PM on Thursday, April 4th. The accident report states that Harms failed to stop at the intersection with County Road B14 and collided with a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by 25-year-old Alec Kautz of Titonka.

Kautz told Deputies he saw the Harms vehicle pull out in front of him, but he was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. Both drivers were taken to Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona with what were described as minor injuries, with Harms taken by Titonka EMS and Kautz by private vehicle.

Harms was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to his truck was estimated at $3,000 while damage to Kautz’ car was estimated at $6,000.
