–Area Law Enforcement agencies converged on Algona this past week for a special training exercise with unique instruction in multiple areas. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department and the Algona Police Department hosted the event, that brought officers from over a dozen counties across North Iowa last Wednesday. Deputy Sheriff Jake Radmaker tells KLGA News this is the first time they have been able bring this group of law enforcement officers together.

Radmaker says the training focused on a few different areas.

The training also included tactical medicine and first aid techniques that officers can use in the field. Sheriff Roger Fisher says this type of cooperation is needed amongst area law enforcement agencies.

The Special Operations Group includes Sheriff’s Deputies and Police Officers from Winnebago, Hancock, Wright, Franklin, Cerro Gordo, Worth, Mitchell, Floyd, Butler, Palo Alto, Emmet and Kossuth counties.
