–The volunteer organization that tries to find homes for animals in need across Kossuth County is rebranding themselves while also launching a fundraising effort to expand their services. What was the Kossuth Animal Rescue Family, is now known as Kossuth County Tails of Hope Rescue, and they are raising funds to make needed improvements to their facility. Aubree Johnson-Cook serves as Vice President for the Tails of Hope Board of Directors, and she tells KLGA News they want to overhaul their facility so they can house dogs.

The Tails of Hope Rescue facility is located in the former KLGA building, west of Algona along County Road B40. Currently, they can only house cats, and Johnson-Cook says they have plenty that are available for adoption at this time.

Tails of Hope is completely run by volunteers, and Johnson-Cook says they are reaching out to local businesses along with area residents, hoping to drum up support.

As a part of their fundraising effort, Tails of Hope Rescue will hold a special bake sale event at the Bomgaars store in Algona on Saturday, May 25th. From 10AM-3PM that day, you can stop by and get some fresh baked treats and meet some of the cats available for adoption. For more information on how you can help, you can find Kossuth Tails of Hope Rescue by searching on Facebook, where you can find contact information and a link to their website.
