–The Algona Public Library is encouraging patrons to sign up for a digital learning platform this month and help them secure some grant funding. Sonya Harsha is the Young Adult Librarian in Algona, and she tells KLGA News that “The Achievery” is designed by education experts for teachers, parents, and students.

Harsha says they can receive $9,500 in grant funding if they can get enough people signed up before the end of the month.

Registration only takes a few minutes.

If you would like to see what “The Achievery” has to offer before signing up, Harsha says you can check it out next week at the library.

While you need to be 13 years old to sign up for your account, Harsha says parents can sign up their younger children, as the site has plenty of age-appropriate activities. If you have any questions, you can contact the library by calling 515-295-5476. The deadline to sign up to help them secure the grant funding is August 26th.
