–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved the first reading of a zoning ordinance amendment that will impose a moratorium on solar energy projects during their meeting Tuesday. Board Chairman Kyle Stecker read the proposed amendment.
The amendment will give everyone involved time to sort out any necessary regulations.
The county’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended a nine month moratorium on any large scale or utility scale solar energy systems in early August. The supervisors will look at the 2nd reading next week.
