–A new endowment fund has been established recently through the Kossuth County Community Foundation that will focus on projects that assist with community betterment, education and youth development. Kristie Brown serves on the board for the Donald R. Tietz Charitable Foundation, which provided the lead gift for the Algona Area Philanthropic Community Development and Betterment Fund.
The new fund will be administered through the Kossuth County Community Foundation, with the Tietz Foundation involved in awarding specific grants.
Terry Gaumer serves as the Affiliate Charitable Impact Director for the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, the parent organization of the KCCF. She tells KLGA News the new Algona Area Philanthropic Community Development and Betterment Fund is another avenue for area residents to assist the agencies that serve Kossuth County.
