–A Northwest Iowa man is now in the custody of state officials to begin his prison sentence after he was convicted on multiple sexual abuse charges in Palo Alto County.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies transported 40-year-old Jessy Ryan Demoss of Ida Grove to the Iowa Medical Classification Center at Oakdale Wednesday.

Demoss was convicted by a Palo Alto County jury in early October following a three-day trial. Back in August of 2023, criminal complaints were filed charging Demoss with 3 counts of 2nd Degree sexual abuse and one count of Lascivious Acts with a Child. He was arrested a month later and held until his trial in October.

Following his conviction, Demoss was sentenced to a prison term not to exceed 25-years on each of the sexual abuse counts, and another 10-years on the lascivious acts charge.
