New Supervisors Take Oath of Office

–Kossuth County’s newest members on the Board of Supervisors officially took the Oath of Office Tuesday prior to beginning their terms in January. Amber Garman and Howard Haas will join the board after winning their respective seats in November.

Garman won a contested race for the 5th District board seat, replacing Roger Tjarks who did not seek reelection. Haas was unopposed in November’s general for the 2nd District seat, after winning June’s primary. He will replace Jack Plathe, who also chose not to seek reelection this year. With the holidays approaching, the board will not meet again until Thursday, January 2nd, at which time Haas and Garman will officially begin their duties.

Also taking the oath of office on Tuesday was Kossuth County Sheriff Roger Fisher and Auditor Tammy Eden, who both won reelection to a 2nd term in November.
