–The Algona City Council received an update on the talks between the city and the Algona Community School District during their meeting this week with regards to the hiring of a School Resource Officer. Police Chief Bo Miller addressed the council and says the talks between the city and school administrators have been fruitful.
City Administrator Jacob Tjaden discussed how a new officer would be shared between the city and the school.
The Algona School Board is scheduled to meet Monday night. During their December meeting, Superintendent Joe Carter told the board that they would hopefully have an agreement ready so it could be voted on at this meeting.
