–The storm spotter training session scheduled for Wednesday evening in Kossuth County has been postponed.
The National Weather Service office in Des Moines announced Tuesday that the meeting will be pushed back due to the possibility of snow and freezing precipitation impacting travel conditions. Wednesday’s weather forecast calls for light snow and freezing drizzle throughout the day.
Kossuth County Emergency Management Coordinator Charissa Mueller tells KLGA News that the training will be rescheduled for a later date later this spring, but an exact date not been finalized yet.
During an interview with KLGA News, NWS Meteorologist Andrew Ansorge mentioned that despite radar becoming more accurate each year, storm spotters are still sought out across the state.
