Estherville Man Facing Drug Charges in Palo Alto County

–An Emmet County man is facing multiple drug-related charges following an alleged incident late last week in Graettinger.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies received information about a suspicious vehicle and strange noises coming from the 300-block of South Cedar Avenue in Graettinger just after 8:30 PM Thursday. While conducting a search of the area, Deputies located a 2012 GMC Terrain in the 200 Block of West Patterson Street, with a male occupant passed out in the driver’s seat.

Deputies were able to identify the man as 66-year-old Lonny Wayne Laidig of Estherville. After completing an investigation of the incident, Deputies arrested Laidig on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine (2nd Offense), an Aggravated Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana (2nd Offense), Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs, and OWI 1st Offense, all Serious Misdemeanors.

Laidig was booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
