–The City of Algona will receive some financial assistance from the state for an upcoming street improvement project. City Administrator Jacob Tjaden informed the city council during their most recent meeting that they will receive funding from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) to include some storm water quality improvements in to the construction effort.
Tjaden says the funding will cover a number of different natural ways they can reduce the amount of nutrients entering the storm water treatment facility.
The city council passed a resolution approving the grant agreement with IDALS during their meeting last week.
