–An official ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday for the new Multi-Cultural Connections Center located in the lower level of the First Congregational Church in Algona. Jennifer Davis serves as the Executive Director for Community and Culture Connections, a non-profit organization that aims to bring people from all cultural backgrounds together in the community. Davis tells KLGA News this multi-cultural center can be used for a variety of purposes.
Davis says the term multi-cultural isn’t exclusive to the influx of new residents in Kossuth County.
The Multi-Cultural Connections Center has several rooms that Davis says can hopefully provide space for anything the community needs.
Community and Culture Connections received just over $28,000 in grant funding from the Kossuth County Community Foundation to establish the multi-cultural center.
The Multi-Cultural Connections Center can be found in the lower level of the First Congregational Church in Algona, located at 315 S. Moore Street. It is open daytime hours plus certain evenings from 5-7 PM. For more information you can check out Community Cultures & Connections on Facebook.
