–State tourism officials have included Algona on a list of the Best Small Towns in Iowa for a Relaxing Vacation, a list that includes nine other communities across the state. Jessica O’Riley serves as the Communications Manager for the Iowa Tourism Office, and she tells KLGA News that when they put this content out, they research both state and national tourism trends.
Algona and Cherokee are the two communities featured from Northwest Iowa, an area designated as “Lakes and Land” by the tourism office. O’Riley says their definition of small might differ from what others may consider small.
O’Riley says Algona offers many attractions that make it perfect for this list.
