–A traffic stop near Algona late Friday night ended with multiple drug related charges being filed against an area woman.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies conducted the stop in the rural Algona area just before 9 PM on Friday, April 18th. After conducting a brief investigation as a part of the stop, Deputies arrested 39-year-old Krystina Marie Bakken on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance—Marijuana (1st Offense), a Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.
Bakken is also facing a charge of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person Ineligible to Carry, a Serious Misdemeanor.
Bakken was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online court records show that she is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on Friday, May 2nd.
