–Two separate incidents in Kossuth County late last week led to a pair of individuals being charged with Domestic Assault.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 28-year-old Khaylei Marie Lavelle Peacock of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, following the report of a domestic disturbance in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 17th.
Court records show Deputies responded to the Burr Oak Motel south of Algona just before 2AM, and upon arrival, Deputies found a male subject who had been struck several times and bitten hard enough to break the skin. As a result, they arrested Lavelle Peacock on charges of Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury, 1st offense.
Court records show she was booked into the Kossuth County Jail before being released with supervision requirements. Lavelle Peacock is scheduled to be arraigned on May 5th in Kossuth County District Court. A No Contact Order was also issued to prevent Lavelle Peacock from having any contact with the alleged victim.
–The next day, a Fenton man was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting a family member.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Zackery Young of Fenton on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault, 1st offense. Court records allege that Young was destroying property in the garage of his residence, when he punched a family member who asked what he was doing. After being struck, the family member hit their head on the ground.
Young was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. He is scheduled to have a non-jury trial on June 20th in Kossuth County District Court. A No Contact Order has been issued to prevent Young from having any contact with the alleged victim in the case.
