–A number of area residents gathered at the Kossuth County Courthouse Thursday morning to make their voices heard as part of a National Day of Protest. Jeremy Steinkuhler of Bancroft addressed the crowd that gathered despite the rainy conditions.

Steinkuhler encouraged those in attendance to keep the movement going beyond Thursday’s events.

Thursday’s protest was held in conjunction with the 50501 movement, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement, a grassroots political organization founded to protest the actions of the second Trump administration.
