–A familiar face will return to the Kossuth Regional Health Center this month to help treat acute care patients, while a new face will soon be providing pain management services in Algona.

According to a news release, Certified Physician Assistant Kim Etherington is returning to KRHC and will begin seeing patients who need an immediate appointment. Etherington earned her Physician Assistant Degree from Des Moines University in 1997 and worked in Family Medicine at KRHC for over 20 years before leaving in 2019.

Acute care is medical care for a broad array of unexpected illnesses or medical conditions for issues that are urgent, but not serious enough to need a visit to the emergency room. Etherington will begin seeing patients later this month.

KRHC will also be providing Pain Management Services later this summer with the addition of Nurse Anesthetist Jacob Miller. Miller is a distinguished Nurse Anesthetist and an expert in chronic pain management.

Miller has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Science degree in Nurse Anesthesiology from the Minneapolis School of Anesthesia. Following graduation, he completed fellowship work in Chronic Pain Management at the University of South Florida.

Miller will specialize in the treatment of painful conditions that affect the spine, joints, and musculoskeletal system.
