–A statewide broadcast network is teaming up with the Iowa State Fair to recognize groups or individuals that have made significant contributions to their local county fair. Russ Parker serves as the Operations Manager for the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network, and he tells KLGA News that the new “Heart of the County Fair” award has been in the works for some time.

County fairs across the state are divided up into six regional districts, and Parker says they wanted to make sure each part of the state was represented.

Parker says they are asking for the public to help recognize these people that have selflessly given their time over the years to make a local county fair the best it can possibly be.

To make a nomination, you can contact the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network by calling 515-513-6764 or click on the Heart of the County Fair banner at www.iowaagnet.com. District winners will be recognized on Friday, August 9th, as a part of the County Fair Day Dinner at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.
