–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved the 2nd and 3rd readings for a pair of amended ordinances during their meeting this week dealing with All Terrain Vehicles and camping restrictions. The county amended ordinance 114-C to show that the use of ATV’s and UTV’s is now allowed in county parks after previously being prohibited. They also amended ordinance 512-A to show the county conservation board has the authority to set restrictions on camping spaces at county facilities. Conservation Board Chairman Kendall Stumme addressed the board and discussed some the reasons behind the change.

Campers will be limited to a 2-week stay under the new restrictions, unless they have a seasonal site on the north side of Smith Lake.
