–An Emmetsburg teen was cited following a one vehicle accident earlier this week in rural Palo Alto County.
According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies received the report of an accident in the 3700 block of 390th street, about 4 miles southeast of Ruthven, just after 10AM Monday. After investigating the incident, Deputies determined that 19-year-old Robert Henderson of Emmetsburg was traveling eastbound on 390th Street in a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 pickup truck.
The accident report states that Henderson lost control of the truck and briefly entered the south ditch. As he attempted to regain control, Henderson crossed the road and eventually entered the north ditch, where the truck rolled and came to rest on its top.
Henderson was trapped in the cab of the truck and had to be extricated by Deputies. He reported only minor injuries despite the truck being considered a total loss.
Henderson was cited and released on charges of operating without a valid license, failure to maintain control, and possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor.
